Skrillex, otherwise known as Sonny Moore, earned an estimated $15 million last year. Moore, the man who single-handedly popularized the “dubstep” craze, performed in front of an estimated 250,000 people last year, spanning across 19 countries at over 150 live shows.
Moore earns most of his money from the road, sometimes grossing more than$100,000 for a few hours’ work.
Theraflu is speaking ill of Kanye West’s new tune, “Theraflu.” A company rep says, “We in no way endorse or approve of the references or use of the image and likeness of Theraflu in this manner.”
Kanye named the song after the cold medicine because he’s so cold to his enemies they need a big dose. As you probably know by now, the song reveals Kanye’s love for his new GF, Kim Kardashian.
Theraflu reps did not say they would sue the singer, but their statement includes buzz words — image and likeness — that are often used in legal proceedings.
In the statement, the Theraflu rep adds, “Theraflu is an over-the-counter product used to help relieve cold and flu symptoms that millions of consumers rely on.”
Top Dawg Entertainment’s founder and namesake, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith says that TDE has “just closed” a joint venture deal with Interscope Records and Aftermath Entertainment, the Interscope imprint founded by Dr. Dre.
Kendrick Lamar’s forthcoming, still-untitled album will be released jointly by Top Dawg, Aftermath and Interscope. Future releases by Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul and Jay Rock will be released jointly by Top Dawg and Interscope. More details on the deal, from Tiffith, are coming soon.

All in all, Kanye premiered his first-ever clothing line in Paris yesterday October 1st during the French capital’s Fashion Week, DW by Kanye West (named in honor of his late mother Donda West). I think he will keep up with the fashion and revive since you have to admit his style is stunned.
Frank Ocean, one of the new singers and writers talks about collaborating with Jay-Z and Kanye West. Throughout this few months he has shown how talented and unique he has been. His writing is like no other and a few of them out there. He brings a lot to the game and if he keeps doing what he is doing then this guy is going to go very far.
Odd Future resident crooner Frank Ocean recently paid a visit to Hot 97 to speak with Angie Martinez for a rare interview. During the conversation, the singer-songwriter spoke on recording with The Throne (“No Church in the Wild,” ”Made in America”) and how Jay-Z made him nervous at first.
“I rarely do collabs, so that was just one of the ones you absolutely do. It’s like a no-brainer. I didn’t really think about any of it,” he said. “The first seven minutes or so of working with Jay – I won’t even say it was seven minutes, but the initial walk in, sit down, put your bag down, he wasn’t saying anything and I was nervous. But as soon as we started talking… He was super cool. I think he was just trying to make me nervous, make me sweat. It seemed a little intentional. It was all good. We were laughing.”
He explained that he recorded with Jay for his solo album first, and that his sessions for The Throne came later.
“I worked with Jay, just me and Jay, on his album, his solo album, before I did the Watch the Throne sessions,” he continued. “But the second time I went, I walked into a room, it was Barry Weiss, Jay,Beyonce, Kanye, a couple other people in the room. It was a pretty heavy room. I got a panda hat on my head.”
Another cut from J. Cole’s forthcoming debut LP, Cole World: The Sideline Story, has hit the web. This amazing track i must say goes by the name of “Nobody’s Perfect” and teams up with legendary Missy Elliot who we haven’t heard for a while, teach us a very important lesson: “Nobody’s Perfect”they take the listener through a series of events that proves that no one is perfect, but that they are still perfect for each other. Almost in a Bonnie and Clyde type of life, J. Cole and Missy explain the troubles and hardships that all relationships and couples go through, but that they will “Ride” it out together and ultimately proving that “Love Prevails”. Also , he adress number of issues from his relationship with Jay Z, to how he went from being ‘stressed over diwanna’s‘ to be being ‘stressed over Rihanna’s‘. It is really great to hear this side of the music industry that may be considered “soft” and emotional, but really has a lot of substance and lyrical content. I think this should be an instant download.
